Each year the Om die Dam Ultra Marathon alongside the Hartbeespoort Marathon Club support a number of charities within the Hartbeespoort vicinity. This year we decided to add two more to the list.

The following charities are therefore selected for the ODD:

House Lesedi, established in 2005, take care of new born babies up to the age of 2 years, who were abandoned, orphaned and abused.

House Lesedi is a temporary safe care facility for these babies until an alternative permanent care (forever families) could be found for them.

Elke leerder by Meerhofskool is spesiaal, uniek en anders begaafd. Ons personeel kan en wil ‘n verskil in elke leerder se lewe maak.

Dit is ‘n omgee – plek waar lewenslus en vreugde voorop gestel word nieteenstaande die spesifieke gestremdheid en beperking van die leerders.

Harties Feral Cat Rescue is 100% volunteer run, a registered non-profit, public benefit organisation devoted to stop the uncontrolled breeding of free-roaming cats.

We are a pro-life foundation, our vision is to live in a community where no kittens are born on the street and where no free-roaming cat go wanting food, water and shelter.

HAWS is a registered non-profit organization that provides welfare services for abandoned, neglected and abused pets as well as farm and wild animals.

HAWS also has a sterilization clinic for the animals of less privileged members of our community. We welcome volunteers to assist us in all aspects of sustaining the existence of the shelter, be it hands-on at the kennels or with HAWS fundraisers.
